K&I carries out activities in Italy, in Europe and worldwide, using an interdisciplinary approach. These activities include research, training and capacity building, networking and science communication, public engagement , consultancy, as well as the production of guidelines and other tools that can help setting new policies or changing existing ones. Attention has been paid by K&I also on the progressive changes in gender relations in the wake of a growing demand for social equality also in the science realm.

K&I is currently involved in the implementation of many projects funded under H2020.

With respect to INNOVEAS Project, K&I will lead the WP2 (State-of-the-art, needs and barriers assessment) and, in this frame, the tasks 2.1 and 2.2. K&I will also participate in all the other WPs, giving a specific contribution on the training WPs (WP3 and WP4).
